For some reason, I find myself faintly embarrassed to be quoting Khalil Gibran, but this one feels pertinent right now. My thanks to Gina for sending it..

“I want the hunger for love and beauty to be in the depths of my spirit, for I have seen those who are satisfied to be the most wretched of people. I have heard the sigh of those in yearning and longing, and it is sweeter than the sweetest melody.”

  1. Heh! A kindred spirit, at last. I’m always yearning and longing and never satisfied so that makes me a better person, then? I feel so much better, well, almost, could be even better I suppose…

Anybody else notice February seems to have an adverse effect on people? I’ve had quite enough of it.
It would be nice if those lacking elements of peace, contentment and happiness would stop and think it over.

  3. I’ve never met anyone who is totally satisfied and concluded a long time ago that longing and yearning constitute the default human state.
Give up trying to be happily fulfilled, you’ll only make yourself miserable.
