Posted by countlazarus on November 12, 2006

My parents recently returned from a Scandinavian cruise and told me about this thing they’d seen from the ship: A bridge from Denmark to Sweden that becomes a tunnel halfway across so that ships can pass over it. I thought they were making it up..

It has come to my attention..

Posted by countlazarus on November 9, 2006

..that there hasn’t been nearly enough Aretha on here of late. So, without further ado..

Seems a long time since people were capable of this kind of thing. I love the moves on the middle backing singer, and I’m not sure quite what Max Castle has concealed behind those lens flares but I find the overall effect positively mesmerising..

Leopards in the Temple..

Posted by countlazarus on November 4, 2006

A little parable from Franz Kafka

“…Leopards break into the temple and drink to the dregs what is in the sacrificial pitchers; this is repeated over and over again; finally it can be calculated in advance, and it becomes a part of the ceremony…”
